What is a blog? According to Problogger (one of my favorite blog sites!), a blog is “a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom“. For your small pet business a blog may be a low-cost alternative to having a web presence. It also easier to setup than a website. That being said, maybe is time for you to start a blogging site. Having your own blog site can help you establish your credentials, create connections and build a community.

Before you start your pet business blog make sure you keep these things in mind…

  1. Commitment - Make sure you are committed to your blog content. Keep updating and adding new blog entries. Search engines are all about new content!
  2. Interact with your followers - If someone comments on your blog, make sure you write a response so that you can start some interaction with your followers.
  3. Be passionate - Find something you are passionate about and blog about it. It would not work without passion. You blog will become “cold” and will lose direction.
