Virtual Assistant and Online Marketing Advice for Petpreneurs
Therese, founder of PetSitUSA, did a poll about what visitors want to see in your pet sitting website. Here are the results:
20% of people responding wanted to see:
Services offered (vacation care, dog walking, overnights, etc.)
Geographical area served by the pet sitter
Prices
17% of people responding wanted to see:
The pet sitter’s qualifications
A short bio about the pet sitter
7% of people responding wanted to see:
If the pet sitter is insured
I wanted to share the results with you guys! Evaluate your website and see if it includes what potential clients want to see.

The company I use to walk my dog also puts the individual walker’s picture above their bios/qualifications and why they became a dog walker/petsitter. I think it’s a nice touch to be able to “see” the person you are going to meet prior to the first appointment/first set-up meeting.

Rebecca ~ That is a great idea! You are absolutely right. I’ll feel more comfortable “seeing” the person on a website before they actually come to my house to walk my doggies

I’ve seen the same thing on local dog walker/pet sitter websites, a friendly picture. What’s even funnier is that most of the people are women - in fact, most of the people in the pet business that I’ve been meeting are women. I think that’s really cool and I’ve tried to tailor my site accordingly without alienating men.
