To refresh your memory on how to get more clients for your pet-related business…

Strategy No. 1 is Change your Mindset…change your mindset from what marketing used to be to what it is now, believe that you are the expert, believe that your target market needs your services and you are the best one out there providing those services. Strategy No. 2 is Define or Refine Your Target Market…identify your nich market! Build Your List

Build Your List

Strategy No. 3 - BUILD YOUR LIST

It is very important for your pet business to build a list. If you are planning on doing online marketing, then a list of email addresses is perfect. If you plan to do mass mailings, then mailing addresses may be better. If you do both, then it might have a better effect. However, if your budget only allows you to do one, make sure you pick the one that will have a bigger effect on your target market. As Ms. Babinsky states on her How to Get More Clients Online report “the most important ability that a business can have is the ability to contact many people in your target market at once”.

Avocado Consulting, Inc. recommends to keep the following items in mind before you start building your list.

  • Decide who you want to be on your list - The goal of the list is to promote your services or product. Your list should include your target market!
  • Create a newsletter - To help build your list online, you need a service that will let people automatically subscribe, confirm or unsubscribe to your newsletter. I like Aweber, but there are many companies out there that can help you with this.
  • A freebie never hurts - Be creative on the type of freebie you want to give your subscribers. Maybe a 10% discount coupon if they want you to walk their dogs Monday through Friday. Or a free dozen of the yummy peanut butter treats. Just make it attractive so that people would want to subscribe to your newsletter to get the freebie.

Try to do at least one list-building activity each day and you will see your list grow, and grow, and grow and keep growing.
